Another wonderful article Kira, thank you for sharing. I love your wildlife updates (Magpie Geese - wow!). Thanks for the reminder that we gardeners tend to focus on the bits that aren’t working and not the whole picture! Thank you also for the fantastic resources you slip into your writing. Always looking forward to your next instalment ☺️
Hi Sarah, thanks so much for your kind words! I'm definitely focusing less on the mess and more on the big, beautiful picture now. I'm really glad the extra resources resonated with you. Thanks again for your lovely feedback!
Wonderful blog as always, Kira! Summer gardening has left me drained and I checked out in late January.
I need to do a major overhaul of 3 sections of garden because they've just gotten out of hand and are most scraggly and spent (SEQld vibe at this time of year).
Very thankful to get back into reading your blogs. Your garden is stunning and your words are on point. Thank you.
Thanks Miranda! I feel like this will be a recurring theme each year, 9 months of pouring love into our gardens, followed by three more of just trying to survive summer!
Hi Kira, thank-you for sharing particularly the part about your friends picturing and what they see and what you see. I am constantly thinking about the what is next to do instead of the present and enjoying the garden as it is and my achievements. A wake up message came through from one of Jackie French's books; be excited or grateful for having a productive mess. Cheers Ian
Hi Ian, I'm really glad it resonated with you. It’s so easy to get caught up in what’s next instead of enjoying what’s right in front of us, isn’t it? I haven't read anything by Jackie French yet; it sounds exactly what I should be reading! Always grateful to have a garden to call my own.
